We welcomed three captive born baby Egernia Hosmeri! The Hosmer's spiny-tailed skink (Egernia hosmeri) is endemic to Australia. They spend the majority of their time in rocky crevices or hollow logs. They give birth to live young in mid-late summer, generally between 1-4 babies. They mature at around 3-5 years of age and can live over 20. Egernia are social, forming family groups of 2-9. They are omnivorous, eating insects, leaves, shoots and berries. They are rare for the common collector. We have two pairs that we thoroughly enjoy as they are very entertaining to keep.
